German Heater Thermostat Replacement & Professional Heater Repair Service
German Heater Thermostat Replacement & Professional Heater Repair Service
If your German heater isn’t responding to temperature changes or is no longer heating correctly, the thermostat is usually the cause. At Elsco Heating in Elgin, we supply fast, compatible thermostat replacements for our own Elsco heaters as well as many Elti, Elka and older Sunflow models. We also provide specialist repair services for German clay core and chamotte heaters that have developed internal faults or cold spots.
German heaters are designed to operate reliably for many years, but like any electrical appliance, issues can occur over time. Whether your supplier has disappeared, your guarantee has expired, or you simply want to extend the life of your heater, we can help you repair rather than replace.

FAQ
How do I know if my thermostat has failed?
If the heater doesn’t respond to temperature changes or produces no heat, the thermostat is usually the issue.
Are Elsco thermostats compatible with other German heaters?
Yes — many Elti, Elka and older Sunflow models use the same thermostat design.
Can I replace the thermostat myself?
Yes, if you follow the instructions and isolate the power. Otherwise, an electrician can do it for you.
Do you repair heaters with cold spots?
Yes. Cold patches indicate internal clay core breakdown and require specialist repair.
What if I don’t know who supplied my heater originally?
That’s common. Even if the supplier is gone, we can still diagnose issues and supply compatible parts. This only applies to heaters manufactured by our supplier in Germany. We cannot offer advice on heaters supplied by other German manufacturers, If your unsure, send us a picture of your heater and thermostat.
